Questions:

Well, after four weeks of traveling with Isaiah we will finally be leaving him behind. As we finish up the last 14 chapters we will again be covering alot of ground. The first part of the week we will be continuing to look at God's promise to redeem the remnant of Israel, which again is a dual prophecy which predicts both what will happen to the people taken into exile, and ultimately what will happen when the Messiah comes again. The final 8 chapters or so are similar to Revelation in that they discuss the ultimate redemption of the faithful and the eternal judgement of the wicked.

As we move into Jeremiah it is good to note that Jeremiah's ministry was all the way from King Josiah through King Zedekiah or approximately 54 years. Jeremiah lived to survive almost all of his prophecies despite being threatened with death numerous times because he refused to speak positive prophecies for the Kings. Ultimately he went to Egypt after the fall to Babylon and what happened to him then is uncertain.

As we get into the first two chapters I am struck by God' specific call to Jeremiah, and his promise to protect him. If I would have had the kind of assurances that Jeremiah had in verses 17-19 of chapter 1 I think I would have been willing to confront Kings as well.
