This week we will continuing in Jeremiah. One interesting fact about Jeremiah is that based on words alone Jeremiah is the longest book in the Bible. Even though it has less chapters than even Psalms it is still considered the longest book. You will see that as we read this week in that we are only covering 2 chapters a day. Unlike Isaiah who had periods of favor and respect with the Kings during his time such as Hezekiah, once Josiah was killed Jeremiah was almost continually at odds with the Kings of Judah. He was pretty much a loner with few friends because of his unrelenting criticism of both the authority and the priesthood of Judah during his time. During the chapters this week we see Jeremiah beginning to proclaim his happy message of Israel's unfaithfulness throughout the land, without a lot of sympathy or support!
