This week we will be starting into the book of Isaiah. This is a pretty long book with a lot of information in it so we will be in this book for a few weeks. Isaiah is considered the "prince" of prophets" both because of the amount of prophesy he wrote and the complexity of this book. As we move forward it's helpful to look back and remember that Isaiah prophesied during the time of King Ahaz, who did not listen to him, and King Hezekiah who did. He prophesied specifically to them and about them, but his book is really comprised of multiple levels. As you look at the book, Isaiah's prophesy covers multiple time periods and some times one prophesy may actually apply to two different time periods. He prophesies about his current time, the time to come when the Jews are in exile in Babylon, the first coming of the Messiah and His purpose, and then the second coming of the Messiah at the final judgement. Take your time, pray as you go, and enjoy!
