Most of the Psalms that we have been reading have been written by David, this week we will be introduced to other Psalm writers in the Bible. For instance the Sons of Korah. The Korahites were in charge of the Temple liturgical activities so you might call the ones who wrote the Psalms the Temple song writers. Also we will see a Psalms by Asaph. Asaph was one of 3 choir directors that David had, no pressure! Last week I said it would be interesting to try to imagine the circumstances that David was facing when he wrote some of the Psalms. This week the Bible helps out with that by giving the exact circumstances in Psalms 51, 52, 54, 56, 57, 59, 60, and 63! Be sure to read the introduction at the beginning of each Psalm to find out the situation. If you don't remember what happened during a particular time you may want to go back and reread about it before reading the Psalm. Finally we will be seeing a Psalm close to the end of the week by Solomon.
