Questions:

As we are finishing up Job is is good to remember the words from Romans 3:10 which says "None are righteous, no not one". In the end God restores to Job much of what he had lost, but not before Job realizes who God is and that God's ways are not our ways and that even a "good" man in and of himself cannot be righteous.

We will be starting into the book of Psalms this week and on the face of it, it looks like we are going to be moving pretty quickly. Actually the first 15 Psalms are quite short, and as a result we can cover a lot of ground.

As we read the Psalms it is important to remember that each of them is a stand alone work of poetry, and that they are not necessarily listed in chronological order. However there are a number of categories of Psalms, there are Psalms of praise, petition, thanksgiving and prayer, among others. Some of the Psalms are joyful others are full of despair.

One definite truth that we can take from Psalms, is that they cover the entire gamut of human emotion and they can be used by believers as a way to pray to God when we don't know how to pray.

As you read see if you can pick out any familiar phases that could be inspiration for or direct lyrics of hymns we sing today.

Enjoy!
