Questions:

As we continue in 1 Chronicles chapters 6 through 9 continue to list the different genealogies of the tribes of Israel, but in chapter 10 we start again to go through the historical account of the time of the kings. Saul only gets one chapter however in Chronicles as chapter 11 picks up the time of David. For anyone who questions David's credentials as a man after God's own heart take note of his Psalm of Thanks in chapter 16.

Chapter 17 is a much more detailed account of God's instructions to David to have his son build the temple and again in chapter 28 he God actually names Solomon as the son who will be the heir!

Also it's interesting to note how the different books put emphasis on different events. For example in 1 Kings chapter 1 verses 38 through 40 Solomon is declared king, but 1 Chronicles chapter 28 verse 1 through chapter 29 verse 25 covers the same ceremony in much more detail. Also, chapter 3 of 1 Kings where Solomon's throne is established is covered by only 1 verse in 2 Chronicles 1.

This is why I think it's informative to look at the 4 books in unison to get the big picture.
