As we finish up with Numbers we will be moving into Deuteronomy which in many ways is Moses' last message to God's people. He knows that God is not going to allow him to enter into the promised land, as a result he carefully reviews what God has done for them, and reminds them how God has rewarded them when they were faithful, and how he has punished them when they were not. He then gives them detailed instructions on what they should do when they enter the promise land. Take note how he explicitly warns them to continue to separate themselves from the people they are to conquer, to not follow their Gods and to not intermarry with them. Think about how this warning might apply to your life? What influences are you allowing in your life, and what types of idols are tempting you and how are they affecting your relationship with God? Finally take special note of Deuteronomy 6: 6-8 on Friday. How can you translate this command into your everyday life, and in what ways are you passing these commands on to your children and the people around you?
