Questions:

This week as you are reading we will be finishing up Jonah and then we in very quick succession will go through Micah, Nahum, Habakkuk and Zephaniah.

Because of the size of these books they normally only cover one theme. As you are reading try to determine what the theme is for each of the books. For example in Jonah I would suggest that the theme is that God desires redemption for his creation rather than destruction.
God sent Jonah to Nineveh to warn them to repent and they did, as a result he did not destroy them.

However contrast that to Nahum who prophesied to Nineveh again 180 years later. Nineveh was once more rebelling against God and sinning in horrible ways. I think that Nahum can be summed up in chapter 1 verse 3 which says that the Lord is slow to anger and great in power; the Lord will not leave the guilty unpunished. The result was that Nineveh was destroyed!

Next week believe it or not we will be finishing up the Old Testament!
Congratulations to all of you who are reading through the Bible for the first time, and well done to everyone who has been traveling this road together with us all year!
