| 1/17/2017 7:02:57 PM | Exodus 4:24-26 I don't understand why God would want to kill Moses. HE didn't earlier when he spoke to him at the Burning Bush.
This is a good question, to figure out the answer we need to go back to Genesis 17 verses 10-14 where God established the covenant with Abram requiring all males to be circumcised.
We don't know the background to these verses, but we do know that Moses had not circumcised his son. He was about to enter Eygpt as God's spokesman but he was in violation with one of the most undisputed requirements of his people. We can suspect that either Moses or his wife were opposed to the circumcision since he had not been living like an Israelite among her people. However when she realized that God was serious she performed the circumcision and saved Moses.
The reality is that Moses by God, and he was a great leader eventually, but he certainly was not without sin.
Of course...neither are we.
